At labbe dynamiQs , we empower Endovascular Neurosurgeons to foster collaborative thinking to fuel innovation. We develop novel Endovascular techniques for treatment of disease processes that go beyond traditional vascular issues and expand Endovascular treatment options for structural issues
We offer one of the only comprehensive solutions to structural brain pathology via Endovascular route designed with input from leading industry engineers.
Endovascular approaches have repeatedly disrupted healthcare delivery. Endovascular approaches revolutionized cardiac treatment and evolved to address vascular conditions like aortic aneurysms. The benefits of endovascular techniques being inherently minimally invasive is key to widespread preference of such approaches by patients and healthcare experts. Our device portfolio aims to recreate this paradigm shift in cerebrovascular disease processes such as increased intracranial pressure monitoring, sensors in hydrocephalus, coma, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, and even during critical care periods such as traumatic brain injury. Additionally, it will also provide other potential therapeutic and/ or diagnostic options for other structural brain pathologies such as endovascular monitoring for epilepsy, Endovascular route for brain tumor treatments by altering the blood brain barrier.
Developing a device portfolio that aims to apply endovascular techniques to cerebrovascular conditions, specifically for
- Intracranial pressure monitoring
- Hydrocephalus
- Idiopathic intracranial hypertension
- Traumatic brain injury monitoring
- Epilepsy monitoring
- Brain tumor treatments
- Idiopathic Intracranial pressure — Sensor and
therapeutic option. (Prelinical )
- TBI — Sensor ( Research)
- Hydrocephalus ( Preclinical ).
- Venous stenosis : Pulsatile tinnitus—Sensor and therapeutic.
- Endovascular ICH solutions. (Removal / Monitoring)
- BBB permeability Variation. (Research )
-Chemotherapeutic Endovascular therapy. (Research).
-Liquid biopsy ( clinical).
-Endovascular monitoring.
-Endovascular obliteration of Epileptic focus.
Dr. Osman Mir is an Endovascular Neurosurgeon currently serving as an Attending Endovascular Neurosurgeon at the Texas Stroke Institute in the DFW Metroplex Medical City healthcare system. He brings over 20 years of experience in Endovascular neurosurgery, stroke care, and neurointervention.
Dr. Mir completed his medical degree (M.B., B.S) from the prestigious Aga Khan University in Pakistan in 2000. He then pursued doctoral studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he conducted research on NF kappa B anti-sense therapy in high-grade gliomas under Dr. Herbert H. Engelhard. Subsequently he worked under Dr. Teepu Siddique at Northwestern University in Proteomics lab exploring the protein protein interaction of ALS related protein ALSIN.
His graduate medical education training includes a neurology residency at Emory University (2006-2009), followed by specialized fellowships in vascular neurology at UT Houston under Dr. James C. Grotta. He did further sub speciality training in neurointerventional radiology and Endovascular surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center under tutelage of Dr. Peter Kim Nelson (Inventor of Pipeline).
Throughout his career, Dr. Mir has made significant contributions to stroke care and research. As Director of Tele-Stroke at Baylor Scott White healthcare system (2015-2019), he expanded the telestroke program to cover the who DFW metroplex. He has been actively involved in numerous clinical trials, serving as co-investigator for major studies like ICTUS 2/3, MR Rescue, and CLEAR. Currently, he serves as the Principal Investigator for NIH Stroke NET at TSI and is the National PI for the Balt Optimax Registry.
Dr. Mir has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications focusing on stroke treatment, Neuro endovascular surgery and stem cell therapy. He has contributed chapters to medical textbooks and regularly presents his research at major neurological conferences. His academic appointments include serving as an Clinical Associate Professor at TCU.
Beyond his medical practice, Dr. Mir is an accomplished athlete who participates in marathons and triathlons. He notably finished in the top half of competitors at the 2017 North American Ironman championship in Woodlands, TX.
Dr. Mir holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology, American Stroke Association/AHA, Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology, and Society of Neurointerventional Surgery. His work continues to advance the field of Neuroendovascular surgery and Stroke care improving patient outcomes through both clinical practice and research.
